Nigerian Men With Eyes For 'High-Flying Gals' (+25 Photos)

In the diary of a typical conservative Nigerian, the man is expected to play the alpha role; he is to be in charge of his intimate relationships with the daughters of Eve - This setting breeds men who are driven and in some cases compelled to outshine and out-earn their partners in every possible way. In the Nigerian entertainment circle, the personality of a man like late Fela Anikulapokuti would aptly fit this description. If we had to make a random pick in a more contemporary setting, a man like Nigerian musician, singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, King Sunny Ade popularly known as KSA would march right into the pages of the 'Alpha male.'
However, times have changed just as Robert C. Gallagher said in his words, "Change is inevitable..." One of the manifestations of such inevitability is the steady rise in the population of women whose personalities wield so much financial independence, poise and appeal in the eyes of the public that they find themselves in the direct glare of stardom, popularity and a steadily rising number of die-hard fans and loyalists.

As expected, the Nigerian society has witnessed a sturdy and growing trend of men; especially celebrities who find themselves enjoying the pleasure of having partners who are either as popular as they are or slightly looking heavier on the scale of popularity.
In this piece, we will take a look at Nigerian entertainers who have eyes for high-flying gals and have either been involved with them in the past or are presently in a relationship with such ladies.

Tiwa Savage and Tee Billz
Born Tiwasope Savage, Tiwa Savage is regarded as one of the most popular and most successful entertainers in recent times and prior to her 2014 marriage to her husband, Tunji Balogun popularly known as Tee Billz in 2014, the beautiful singer had her name embossed on the 'list' of high flying gals with Nigerian roots.
Prominent personalities who attended her wedding include Femi Otedola, Aliko Dangote, Don Jazzy, Banky W., Rita Dominic, Davido, Lola Okoye (wife of Peter Okoye), Toolz, Eniola Badmus, Omawumi, Iyanya, King Sunny Ade, Agbani Darego, Dr SID, Toke Makinwa, and Karen Igho, among others. On 26 April 2014, the couple held their white wedding at the Armani Hotel in Dubai.
Tiwa Savage was born in Lagos, Nigeria. Her family relocated to London from Nigeria when she was 11 years old. Whilst attending high school, she was a trombone player for her school's orchestra band. Savage had a healthy upbringing; she grew up in a multicultural setting due to her migration from Nigeria to the United Kingdom, and from the United Kingdom to the United States.
After graduating with a degree in Business administration from the University of Kent, Savage started working at The Royal Bank of Scotland. She did backup vocals for George Michael at the age of 16, and lent vocals to other musicians such as Mary J. Blige, Chaka Khan, Blu Cantrell, Emma Bunton, Kelly Clarkson, Andrea Bocelli, and Ms. Dynamite, among others.
Furthermore, she has performed on stage with Sting, 50 Cent, The Black Eyed Peas, Eminem, Robbie Williams, and Destiny’s Child, to name a few.

9ice
The 'Gongo Aso' crooner has been rumoured to be in yet another relationship with a society gal and graduate of Lagos State University, Olasunkanmi Ajala. When 9ice (Abolore Akande) got bitten by the love bug some years ago, fell in love hard enough to propose marriage to entrepreneur (who shuttles between Nigeria and the United States), music promoter, poet and blogger, Toni Payne, fans and friends had besieged Toni Payne with loads of well wishes but in less than two years, the marriage hit the rocks.
However, after his love-gone-sour chapter with Toni Payne, 9ice has been rumoured to be involved with two high-flying gals; one being society girl, Vicki 'Bukky' Godis and the other being Funmilayo Dorcas Omotosho.
The singer has officially denied recent reports of his alleged romance with beautiful 32-year-old Lagos State University graduate Olasunkanmi Ajala yet rumours are rife that Ajala is also currently heavily pregnant with their first child.
Things got steamier when whispers of a rumoured plan for marriage popped up barely three weeks ago.

Fred Amata and Agatha Amata
Nigerian thespian, Nollywood director and producer, Fred Amata also falls into the net of men who have an eye of high-flying gals on the strength of his relationship with popular TV personality and 'Inside-Out' presenter, Agatha Amata.
Agatha Amata recently floated a new TV station, Rave TV (which was launched on August 8, 2014) but her relationship with Fred collapsed due to irreconcilable differences after she bore him two children.
Following his fall-out with Agatha, Fred was involved in a sizzling romance with ex-beauty queen, Ibinabo Fiberesima; another high-flying gal and this relationship had a child to show for it.

Kcee
Kcee's eyes for high-flying dames hit what looked like its zenith when he sparked a love triangle between Nollywood actress, Ebube Nwagbo, pretty and endowed actress, Anita Joseph and himself. Anyone who knows Ebube and Anita would easily testify to the visual appeal and sexy score-sheet both ladies hold. The fact that their profession places them in the limelight further heightened the level of controversy the affairs generated.

2Face
Quite a number of fans admitted that they stopped counting award-winning singer, 2Face's children when it went past half a dozen and that's understandable considering the fact that children came from three women; one of whom he eventually married. His affection for Nollywood actress and wife, Annie Macaulay falls in the circle of rarity given the realisation that they met when they were just 15. 2Face marked his one-year wedding anniversary in April 2014 and he was once asked why he settled for the most popular amongst his 'baby mamas' and his reply went thus, “I have been fortunate enough to have met a couple of nice ladies in life and two of them even have children for me. But I think that Annie and I understand each other more. As with matters of the heart, it is very difficult sometimes to find the right words to explain it. Somehow, you just know that this is the particular person that you want to stay with.”

Timaya
‘Egberipapa 1 of Bayelsa,’ Timaya has unarguably carved a glaring niche for himself but the same can be said for his former girlfriend, Empress of the Njamah family.
At the time of their relationship, Empress was debatably at the peak of her acting career and as expected, the romance was well reported in the print and online media till both decided to part ways; opting to wash their 'dirty robes' in public glare.
Timaya now has a daughter named Emanuella from his baby mama, Barbara and remains unmarried.

Ice Prince
'Oleku' crooner, Ice prince has denied ever dating Ghana's sexy actress, Yvonne Nelson more than once as he maintains those who claim he was ever in a relationship with her have nothing to prove it.
However, despite this vehement denial, the rumours have never ceased flying about the alleged romance between the Chocolate City act and the one of Ghana's highest-flying actresses.

Iyanya
Another Nigerian artiste who was involved with Ghana's high-flier, Yvonne Nelson is Iyanya. In an interview granted to 'Bella Naija,' Yvonne Nelson eventually admitted that their relationship hit the rocks after 8 months. When confronted with Yvonne Nelson's admission, Iyanya chose to bite the silent pie and said, “I don’t want to talk about it please. She can say whatever she wants to say. It’s her business not mine.”
Meanwhile, pouring her mind out in the interview, Yvonne accused Iyanya of laying the bed of their relationship with lies, adding that while they were dating, he was also dating several other girls.
“We dated for between seven to eight months. We had something and I thought it was special, like he was a wonderful guy but it was all lies. He had other girls and other things he was doing. Aside the actress that was in the picture, there were a lot more. That is how bad it is. We were in a relationship and he lied throughout and he was able to do all those things because I wasn’t living in Nigeria. But aside from the distance, I feel if you’re a genuine person and you’re loyal, you would still not do that. I feel it’s disrespectful to start mentioning other people’s names.

“I am talking about Iyanya because we had a thing. I don’t want to bring in a third person. There were a lot of names that people know. There was a girl from South Africa. I’m not going to mention names but she was part of Big Brother Africa last year.”

She also explained why she deliberately kept the lid on their relationship till they broke up.
“I also don’t believe in putting my relationships in the faces of people. We both had our careers and were trying to protect our fan base and that’s cool. But if you go through my Instagram page, you’d see a couple of pictures of us together. I wasn’t shy about anything but he could not say he’s dating Yvonne Nelson because he had different people he was seeing so it was very hard for him to bring it out.”

Wunmi Obe and Tunde Obe
From the Aboderin family, Wunmi can confidently beat her chest to being born with a kitchen-sized silver spoon and of course, she got everything that comes with such a luxury especially for a lady with a soft spot for the arts.
Entertainers since day one, Tunde and Wunmi have been around for decades, performing as comedians, musicians, recording artistes and writers; and they’re most widely known for their work on the now rested 'Charly Boy show,' as well as hits like ‘Mogbo Moya,’ ‘Palava,’ ‘Fine Bara’ and ‘Adupe.’
Tunde is the son of a late Ambassador, while Wunmi, who also owns a beauty business, is the daughter of late Punch founder. Olu Aboderin.
Tunde and Wunmi Obe also known as T.W.O started as lead singers in a campus band ‘Turning point’ in the 80′s but got popular Nationwide with their weekly television slots on the Charley boy show and Zoom time.

D'banj
One of the most debated love stories in the history of the Nigerian entertainment industry was between D'banj and Nollywood actress and brand ambassador, Genevieve.
The rumour rose to a climax when she featured in D'banj's music video for the hit single, 'Fall in Love.' The video, released on May 4, 2014, saw Genevieve playing a very crucial role in its dramatic sequence.
Not many would contest the weight or strength of Genevieve in the Nigerian showbiz circle as her profile, influence and popularity has since spread beyond acting and far beyond the borders of her place of birth.
